One of the things that we may not realize is that our bodies create sounds that are undetectable to our ears. These sounds are the result of vibration and movement which is inherent in every cell and essential to every tissue. It has often been described as the “singing of cells”.
Read MoreWe are entering the traditional season of feasting and it reminds me how much we seem to have become obsessed with food. We are a country that discards more food than any other country on earth, a whopping 60 million tons every single year. It represents about 30-40% of the national food supply and close to $473 billion. When you think of the work and resources that go into providing food in this country, this should really make you sit down and cry. Especially when you look at the fact that in this country 47 million people face hunger every day including 1 in 5 children.
Read MoreIn the human body there is also an inherent pattern, history, experiences and lifestyle that creates our health or lack thereof. Simply applying a prescription drug may make us feel better, may reduce the symptoms of chaos, pain and debility, but it does not create change, nor does it promote resolution. As soon as we stop, the original condition will often return, making us dependent on the drug for peace within our body.
Read MoreWhy do the effects of a cleanse never last? We may feel better, especially while doing it, but then when we stop our cleanse and return to our “normal” life, our symptoms return over time. This is because we have forgotten just how toxicity accumulates and how our bodies get rid of it.
Read MoreIn my two previous articles on this topic, I’ve pointed out that automation and profit motivation in our health care system have displaced the human element, even though this is a system that is supposed to be concerned for the wellness of humans. How are we to receive what we need from such a system? By creating our own plan that provides for our needs.
Read MoreIn Part 1, I made it clear that continuing on the path of treating our health care as a business model will never provide the kind of individual and effective patient care that we would like to have. We do not visit our physician’s office to be analyzed by an algorithm. We are expecting to be treated personally and with compassion. We expect to be understood and for our feelings about our symptoms to be taken into account. But this is not a “need” that is recognized in our current system.
How are physicians supposed to reconcile these two opposing expectations?
Read MoreConventional medicine is often miraculous and life-saving, but we have all had terrible experiences including misdiagnoses, long wait times for care and often debilitating prescription side effects. But as long as we have the miracles, we will still turn to conventional medicine. But how much longer can our health care system continue to provide those miracles when it cannot even provide adequate regular care?

Read MoreThe Nipah virus is the next zoonotic virus to emerge on the scene even though it has actually been around for more than 20 years in Singapore, Malaysia and India. But it’s time for us to start paying attention.
Read MoreEach day our health care system demonstrates that it views us as a machine. Emotions, thought processes, memory, even our very soul may make us a miracle, but we are still defined in mechanistic terms which simply reinforces and justifies more automation.
Read MoreIt is in moments of solitude and silence that we receive knowledge about our lives, ideas about our future, realizations for our decision making and information about our health. So why do we ignore this most basic need?
Read MoreEvery woman that walks into the clinic has been told the same thing by their physician ... take more calcium. Particularly post-menopausal women have been programmed to think that calcium is the key to their bone health. In fact, that is far from the truth, so let’s talk about why osteopenia, osteoporosis and arthritis for that matter, seem to be in every woman’s health future. So when we talk about the bones needing lots of calcium, what exactly do the bones do with all that calcium? The answer is .... nothing.
